Publisher's Summary
This is the unfettered story of Ashneer Grover—the favourite and misunderstood poster boy of Start-up India.
Raw, gut-wrenching in its honesty and completely from the heart, this is storytelling at its finest.
A young boy with a ‘refugee’ tag growing up in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar outpaces his circumstances by becoming a rank-holder at the pinnacle of academic excellence in India-IIT Delhi. He goes on to do an MBA from the hallowed halls of IIM Ahmedabad, builds a career as an investment banker at Kotak Investment Banking and AmEx, and is pivotal in the making of two unicorns—Grofers, as CFO, and BharatPe, as co-founder.
As a judge on the popular TV show Shark Tank India, Ashneer becomes a household name even as his life turns upside down. Controversy, media spotlight, garrulous social media chatter descend, making it difficult to distinguish fact from fiction.

Story
In the past two decades, mutual funds have emerged as the preferred investment option for Indians. They offer liquidity, and ease of entry and exit, along with potentially higher returns. This, in turn, makes mutual funds a natural choice over traditional investment options such as gold, real estate and fixed deposits. However, while the popularity of mutual funds has increased in India, the ability to use them to our advantage has not. Investors are frozen by the choices they face with thousands of mutual fund options.

Eye opener
The story is encapsulating. It’s interesting to see how startup founders may get cornered if they don’t protect their own interests. Biggest learning is cover your back.

Gripping story
Very well written… The desi touch to story telling makes it compelling and holds your attention all throughout… It would have been better still if the audio version too was recorded by the author himself - Just a suggestion

Not much to learn Just a superficial story
The story is good and explains Ashneer's journey but the book focuses more on the Bharat Pe fiasco rather than providing learnings on startup life or building a startup.
