Publisher's Summary

The apocalypse will be televised!

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible.

In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground.

The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot. A dungeon so enormous, it circles the entire globe.

Only a few dare venture inside. But once you're in, you can't get out. And what's worse, each level has a time limit. You have but days to find a staircase to the next level down, or it's game over. In this game, it's not about your strength or your dexterity. It's about your followers, your views. Your clout. It's about building an audience and killing those goblins with style.

You can't just survive here. You gotta survive big.

You gotta fight with vigor, with excitement. You gotta make them stand up and cheer. And if you do have that "it" factor, you may just find yourself with a following. That's the only way to truly survive in this game - with the help of the loot boxes dropped upon you by the generous benefactors watching from across the galaxy.

They call it Dungeon Crawler World. But for Carl, it's anything but a game.

Don't judge the book from its title.

The title may make you think this is some cheesy or genric Litrpg. First of all the narration is insane. Its leagues above anything I've ever heard. Also, the story is amazing. It hooks you in from the get go. The pacing is really good and humor is on point, it never feels overdone and the writing is just perfect. This is my second listen the the way the Matt Dinniman sets up the whole overarching plot is kind of unbelievable. It never feels like something happened for no reason. If there is a chekov's gun in the plot, it will go off for sure. It'll go off either some chapters later or some books later. Overall very polished writing. Greatest audiobook series of all time.

Audiobook experience at its best

One of the best audiobooks I've ever heard period. Really enjoyed the story, characters and the performance by Jeff Hays.

Great read

It took some time to complete it...
starting was not so good for me...
i took some breaks in between then returned to continue..
finally author gets his track correct midway into the book.
and then it's sweet and smooth..
Performance was one of the best i ever listened. what a great talent Jeff is.

The amazing tone variations in the narration!

Books like these are what makes audible special and even better than actual books, I don’t think even reading the book would be as special an experience as listening to this book.

Great audio book

Would recommend to anyone who likes manga light novels or in general rpg fans. This is a mixture of post apocalyptic fantasy with dungeons and dragons

First GameLit and I loved it

My first foray into LitRPG. Never listened or cared for a LitRPG before, until I came across a Reddit thread talking about DCC.

Voice Acting was top-notch, especially Carl was well done.

Anyways, I had way too much fun with this book. Onto the next book in the series.

Very fun read

Been a while since I came across a LitRPG that really caught my attention. I love the Carlos and Donut duo and cant wait to find out more about their adventures.

Not going into spoilers, this story does seem a lot like some of the manhwa I have read like the omniscient reader which had similar viewership/fanbase storyline which made it very interesting. Lets see how this goes!

The narrotor is amazing

The story is pretty good, but the narration is what made it one of my favourites. Big up Jeff!
