About this listen
"While the history books are filled with tales of obsessive visionary geniuses who remade the world in their images with sheer, almost irrational force, I've found that history is also made by individuals who fought their egos at every turn, who eschewed the spotlight, and who put their higher goals above their desire for recognition." (From the prologue)

Some of the best stories and insights
I have been following Ryan holiday for sometime and this book was just as expected - excellent. The stories and examples placed before us are great and the final interview between Tim and Ryan is too good.

A brilliant book.
Brilliant book on stoic philosophy filled with some incredible examples and stories of people who ruined and made their life because of their ego.

Amazing content and a stunning narration
I started with this book thinking it to be a collection of dos and donts but it turned out to be much more thought provoking and personal than I thought it would be. Must-listen for everyone.

Need to listen this to be a better human
Well narrated as it is by the author itself. Lots of point to take in and to self examine.

Well written and narrated, through this book you start to recognize so many things about yourself you never even knew existed.
This book teaches you to become more self aware and that’s the first step towards self improvement. I cannot wait to go through the entire book again.

a 10000 foot view of yourself and your identity
must read . it inspires you to stay on ground and look at the world around you . I would come back to this book for sure to add my experience to the words I heard .
narration could have been more engaging , the content is powerful so it didn't affect me much

Great advice
Audible has been such a great resource to use. Hearing this book by the author itself was amazing.
Though the concepts are simple enough, the stories get the point across well and help retain the learnings better. Great resource to keep coming back to and reminding myself that ego is the enemy and the only person getting in the way is ourselves.

Good Book. Narration could be improved.
The book is a one time read. It has good stories but looks stretched at a few places.

excellent read
real life examples are easy to assimilate. Ryan has put considerable efforts in quotes of wise men. To see the whole world in a grain of sand is just awesome ....looking forward to more books by Ryan Holiday.
