Topirceanu a fost una din voluptatile literare ale adolescentei mele. Un perfect dozaj de mestesug, emotivitate si ironie, rezumat gratios al unei Romanii belle-epoque, asa cum imi place sa mi-o imaginez: cu ragazuri civilizate, indrazneli citadine si candori rurale. Se spune, mereu, ca poezia lui Topirceanu este minora. Se poate. Dar exista un minorat sfasietor al fiecarui fragment de viata, daca il privim pe fundalul monumental al celor doua-trei evenimente majore de care nu scapa nimeni. Majora cu adevarat e, in fond, numai moartea. Restul e zbaterea minora a cotidianului, materia trecatoare a unei trecatoare umanitati. Cu alte cuvinte, restul e Topirceanu...
