Ein junges Paar kommt nach Jahren zurück in die Sächsische Schweiz. Seiner Freundin verschweigt der Erzähler, dass ihn ein Schuldgefühl gegenüber Vito treibt, dem Schulfreund, der damals beim gemeinsamen Klettern ein Bein verlor. Die Rückkehr ist schwer: Neben Apfelbäumen, Elbwiesen und Sandsteinfelsen gibt es auch das Sommercamp der Neonazis und die misstrauischen Dorfbewohner.
