A collection of yarns from Shimla
Shimla once a quaint hill town in Himachal Pradesh was deeply loved by developed by the British, during their rule in India. After independence, most Britishers left India, and several stayed back.
The romance and aura of the place has been partially retained through strange, though often unverifiable stories of ghosts, sightings and unexplained noises. The remaining romanticism is quickly fading. These yarns of the ghosts of the English men and women are what make up many evening conversations and the content of this book.
Such stories can be fun, alas. I was disappointed by the stories. If you come with the sole intent of spooking yourself, you're in for disappointment. The language is plain and simple. However, either a copywriter wasn't employed OR if one was, he/she wasn't the right one for the job. The language needs refining.
Shaheen Khan, the narrator is clear in her delivery of the stories and easy to understand.

Overall an okay read
"Ghost Stories of Shimla Hills" by Minakshi Chaudhry offers a captivating journey into the supernatural folklore of the Shimla region. Chaudhry's storytelling prowess brings these eerie tales to life, painting a vivid picture of the haunted landscapes and mysterious occurrences. While some stories may lack depth or originality, overall, the collection succeeds in delivering an entertaining and spine-chilling read for enthusiasts of the paranormal genre.

Good for young adults
The stories are well structured and aimed at a younger audience. The ghost stories although fun were not scary enough for me. Someone who likes mild peril and not much of an avid horror fan would enjoy it.

Good fiction stories
these stories are good to listen but they have nothing to do with reality. you can listen for fun but don't take anything seriously.

Avoidable if you’re looking for horror
Read this to relive the days of your teenage spent traveling to various places within and outside your city with friends in the hopes of spotting a ghost (Bhangarh, Delhi Cant. Etc for me).
Almost all the stories made me yawn but then my purpose was to relive the good old days.
