About this listen
Your body is teeming with tens of trillions of microbes. It's an entire world, a colony full of life. In other words, you contain multitudes. These microscopic companions sculpt our organs, protect us from diseases, guide our behaviour and bombard us with their genes. They also hold the key to understanding all life on earth.
In I Contain Multitudes, Ed Yong opens our eyes and invites us to marvel at ourselves and other animals in a new light, less as individuals and more as thriving ecosystems. We learn the invisible and wondrous science behind the corals that construct mighty reefs and the squid that create their own light shows. We see how bacteria can alter our response to cancer-fighting drugs, tune our immune system, influence our evolution and even modify our genetic make-up. And we meet the scientists who are manipulating these microscopic partners to our advantage.
In a million tiny ways, I Contain Multitudes will radically change how you think about the natural world - and how you see yourself.

Truly this book gives you a grander view of life
This is a great book with a great narration. Really loved the part where the author explains about how our habit of sanitizing us is affecting us in a negative way. Must recommend for curious and open minded people.

We need to be more welcoming of the unseen world
Before I read this book, I decided to watch the video talks of the author. He shared a lot of interesting information in that and one can get a good gist of what this book shared. But the intricate details of how and what and where people did what experiments to prove those points is shared in detail in the book. For anyone who has read any book on Microbiome, your principals will get sorted and strengthened with this book. What i liked the most was the last chapter where the author talks about how humans are getting it wrong by fighting the bacteria within and outside - too much sanitization everywhere. We need to give a chance to this bacteria and try to live with it. The bacteria from our body is going to be the Superdrug of the future and is going to save lives in need of help. basically we need to live in harmony with nature and not try to fight it, we will all be much better off.
