Captivating account of how great men think..

A first hand account of how a business leader thinks and how he sees the same things that we see and creates magic out of them.

I am a great fan of Jeff Bezos and this book makes me even more impressed. This book is actually written in two parts - first part is a compilation of his letters to stakeholders at Amazon through the years (and may sound boring to people who are not very interested in learning about Amazon and its success) while the second part (which starts from the chapter ‘My gift in life) is mostly about his life events and his thought process, this is that part which kept me captivated.

There are a lot of ideas that I liked, like disagreeing and committing, what can be achieved at a garage and what can be achieved only at a huge corporation, the theory of Day 1, the greater responsibility towards the society and country etc.

Overall, I feel excellent after completing this book and I believe that my thought process will be substantially improved too by absorbing and assimilating the ideas and concepts discussed by Jeff in my life endeavours. I am going to retain this book in my digital library and would definitely go back and listen to it a couple of times more in near future. :)

A must read recommendation for all those people who believe in learning from achievers...

Nicely narrated

I found the letters to shareholders repetitive. The second section of the book was immersive.

The books is narrated beautifully.

An insight into Jeff's & Amazon Thought Process

Narrated well this book covers Jeff Bozo's annual shareholders letters and the thought process of its Founder and Amazon
The letters start getting interesting after 2010 as Amazon diversifies into various businesses
Through this book you can see how Amazon evolved and diversified into an OTT , Space exploration, Cloud and Market place player

The book only covers the highly positive side of Amazon and Jeff Bozo's and makes everything about Amazon look awesome and God like
Though it could have been out of context but there could have been a Brutually Honest section covering the major controversies surrounding Amazon like being accused of cannabilizing brick and mortar retail, arm twisting marketpace sellers to offer heavy discounts on billion day and black friday sales and no control on sale of counterfeit items on its platform. Could have earned one more star for the same

Great concept but repetitive

The growth as a company and the ethos that was put forth was new and refreshing considering all was factual.
Cons was the repetitive nature of narrative Sometimes repeated almost 3 times and getting extremely boring.
