Kitne Pakistan? is a 2000 Hindi novel by Kamleshwar, a noted 20th-century Hindi writer. A pioneer of the Nayi Kahani (New Story) movement of the 1950s, and later a screenwriter for Hindi cinema, Kamleshwar’s novel, employing allegory and realism, deals with a vast expanse of human history, as it follows the rise of sectarianism, nationalism, Hindutva and communalism. Kitne Pakistan? casts doubts about the true motives of the people who make decision on behalf of and for common people, who throughout history have been bearing the brunt of their decision. The novel chronicles the violence and bloodshed in the aftermath of partition of India in 1947 and examines the nature and futility of divisive politics and religion.
Kitne Pakistan? won the 2003 Sahitya Akademi Award for best book in Hindi. Today, the novel is considered the author's finest work and one of the classics of modern Hindi literature. It was adapted into a play in 2013.

Good contant, great narration
you need to give little time to get involved, but if you like history and have rough knowledge of historical (recent, old and ancient) event you will love it.
you can grasps lots of insight around the historical event and how they shap the world we know today.
its basically about the mistak made by people on basis of there believe, greed and religions which divides people and make each other there enemy and making pakistan(metaphorical) all the time.

so engaging & deep!
one would not be able to guess content of book by just looking at the title of this book. it is very emotional and deep book. it takes you to various pages of history not only India but it touches the rest of world too..happy to have this book.more power to the author!

Best historical fiction ever…
The English translation of this book used to be the best Fiction i has ever read.
The Hindi Audible version is now the best audio book i have ever heard.
