Lovely interpretation of AIs and humans

Beautiful concept, interesting characters. The narration by Sura Siu is fabulous, she infuses all the characters with life. In this book, Ishiguro explores the intersection of AIs and emotions, among other things. I loved his thoughtful and empathetic take on human-like AI and their interactions with humans. Interestingly, at several points, the AI seemed more humane than the humans.

The book is also a genre-bender. It blends elements of science fiction, myth, and fantasy in very interesting ways. The characters initially seem like cliches but then they go and surprise you as well.

The story feels like going along with someone who is trying to imagine a future with artificial humans and what it might look like.

A soft tale about human nature

an excellent read; makes one wonder about the coexistence of man, nature and machines. the narrator deserves a special mention for making this experience ineffable

Immersive, Thought-provoking

The cold sublimity of the characters as they seek the warmth of the sun! This is masterful storytelling

Lost me somewhere

The sci-fi beginning was great but I Struggled to finish. After some time it stopped making sense to me.

The modern age Old Man and the sea

but unlike the classic, its meaning remains deep on all levels. it's an unapologetically polarizing book.

Tiring story

The story started intersting, stayed boring for a long time and ended in a melancholic way. I liked a few revelations and questions it raised, but the repetition of phrases, words and actions bored me. it was a challenge to finish no doubt.

Lovely narration.

good

what would happen to our world if machines/AI took over. A very thought provoking take on a dystopian future by Kazuo Ishiguro. Well written, as always, but found it a bit stretched in some places. Very well narrated too.
