Isaura the Slave, an audiobook dramatized in Spanish based on the famous story written during the abolitionist campaign of 1875 by Brazilian Bernardo Guimaraes, is the story of a beautiful and educated white slave, daughter of a mestiza that passed through terrible times because she did not give herself to the sordid desires of the owner of the house, Mr. Almeida. Isaura was brought up and educated by his wife, a kind woman that taught her to read, to write, and to play the piano. Isaura's dreams of freedom were truncated by Leoncio, who assumed the management of the house. Editorial Reviews

La Esclava Isaura is the passionate Brazilian story of a white slave, Isaura, who dangerously resists the advances of her master and farm owner, Leoncio, the son of the man who was obsessed with Isaura’s mother.

Isaura dreams of freedom, and when she finally flees with her father, she falls in a desperate kind of love with a good-standing man named Alvaro. Alas, this love is fleeting, as Leoncio tracks down Isaura and brings her back to the farm, where love and perhaps death awaits.

Performed by a full cast in Spanish.
