Good,.. made an effort to look at it in an Indian perspective but still too British.

Master Journalist at work
For me as an Indian who was a witness to all events and individuals chronicled in this book, to get interested was difficult. The only reason I took this title was the name Mark Tully - and yet again he didn't fail. A very well presented and very well chronicled, Mark really presents the true happenings as they happened. He did no allow his personal thought processes to adulterate his reporting. In today's world where finding a truly independent journalist is a rarity, Mark is a textbook for students of journalism as what they should be like. Though I cant say the same for BBC - his employer (if I say so) but Mark acquits himself with a great aplomb.
The events and their sound recordings were excellent not marred by the decay of years. His interviews most of which were repeats for me as I had heard them when they were broadcasted, still held a significance.
Enjoyed thoroughly!
