About this listen
The first in the Amos Decker series, Memory Man is an astounding audiobook from blockbuster author David Baldacci, where an extraordinary man races to hunt down a terrible killer.
When Amos Decker returned home eighteen months ago to find the bodies of his wife and only daughter, he didn't think he could carry on living. Overwhelmed with grief, he saw his life spiral out of control, losing his job as a detective, his house and his self-respect. But when his former partner in the police, Mary Lancaster, visits to tell him that someone has confessed to the murder of his family, he knows he owes it to his wife and child to seek justice for them.
As Decker comes to terms with the news, tragedy strikes at the local school. Thirteen teenagers are gunned down, and the killer is at large. Following the serious brain injury Amos suffered as a professional footballer, he gained a remarkable gift – and the police believe that this unusual skill will assist in the hunt for the killer.
Amos must endure the memories he would rather forget, and when new evidence links the murders, he is left with only one option.
Memory Man will stay with you long after the final chapter. The series continues with The Last Mile.

Amazing rendition
A really good rendition by Ron Mclarty and Orlagh Cassidy. The duo make this book a riveting listen. The storyline is good as well as David unravels yet another spiderweb and turns it into a cascading avalanche setting up an obstacle course that is surprising at every corner.

Definitely Not Bad
SUSPENSE : 5 stars.
PACE : 4.5 stars.
LOGIC : 2 stars.
NARRATION (Male) : 1 star.
The variations of voice modulation (male) are confusing , inconsistent, misplaced (one modulation applied to different charaters at different times) and not-seamless.
But it still doesn't ruin the experience because the story takes your mind off this issue.

A good story, well performed
The idea behind the story is unusual but quite believable. We are nowhere near tapping the full extent of our brain’s capacity. The narration is clear

Good story but. Drag.
struggled to finish .
such unnecessary and detailed description of things. Depoction of a broken mind is so elaborate and repetitive, it gets boring after some time. but after 3 hours or so the actual amos Decker abilities kicks in and story becomes better and fast paced a bit.
could have been way shorter.
Nice Narration. it like listening to a play.

I really enjoyed it
Overall book is very good, was really hooked for most of the part. A little disappointed with connection that was given between Protagonist and Antagonist.

An excellent read. a different spin to a traditional detective story
A different spin to a traditional detective story. loved the character arc of Amos Decker. The dubbing of the female voice seems out of place in sync with the flow of the male voice narration.
