Jim Corbett
About this listen
A famous hunter. A legendary storyteller. A simple man.
This book talks about the experiences of hunter and conservationist Jim Corbett, during his years in the United Provinces, or what is now known as Uttarakhand. Here we see a different side to Corbett, not as the intrepid hunter of big cats but a man who blends seamlessly with the mountain folk of Northern India.
Join him in his adventures and feel the thrills of hunting; follow him into dense forests as he encounters a dreaded dacoit who has a heart of gold; and enjoy the tales of love, loyalty, and resilience of simple villagers. This skillful storyteller is sure to keep you glued to the book.

India of that time
in this book Jim Corbett has described Indian people there culture, clothing, customs etc. there is no where you find any thrilling forest hunting experiences. In this book there are only some encounters with wild animals since his life has been around jungle but here he has not described it for the the wildlife part but more connected the wildlife with people in village. Anyone who want to have a look at the early 20th century Indian village life should read this. after reading this book you will find how innocent Indians have been in that times.
narration was satisfactory. At the beginning you will find the narration to be semi robotic but after a few chapters you will see the narration has improved.

Tedious narration
I was keenly looking forward to this, having read Man Eating Leopard of Rudraprayag, some thirty years ago. The narration is very tedious and I gave up after about half an hour.

An encyclopedia of good values and ethics.
I would term this great book an encyclopedia of values and ethics. The events described in this book describe good values like empathy, trust, care, honesty, courage, which drives the reader/listener into self-analysis mode. The book very aptly highlights the good qualities of the poor people of Jim Corbett's India in a noble way.

Excellent stories. Terrible narration.
Sounds like an experiment with getting Alexa to read the book. Very bad narration with no expressions.

captivating.
captivating account of how Jim saw India. and possibly a more neutral and simpler picture than what we as Indians can see.

Worst Audible Experience Till Now
A fascinating and heartwarming story reduced to a journey of pure boredom because of the awful narration.
