Publisher's Summary
At 10.20 p.m. on 21 May 1991, a young woman bowed before Rajiv Gandhi at an election rally in Sriperumbudur, 42 km north of Chennai. And then there was an explosion.
This book is the definitive account of one of the most controversial crimes in contemporary India. It unravels the complex plot hatched by the LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) to ensure that Rajiv Gandhi did not return to power in the 1991 general elections.
Ninety Days provides a blow-by-blow account of how the Special Investigation Team of the CBI cracked the assassination plot, identified the assassins and chased the mastermind, Sivarasan, to his final hideout. The deaths from cyanide consumption of the members of the hit squad left several unanswered questions in their wake, which this book explores.

Story
The year was 2000. Sierra Leone, in West Africa, had been ravaged by years of civil strife. With the intervention of the United Nations, two companies of the Indian Army were deployed in Kailahun as part of a United Nations peacekeeping mission. Soon, the peaceful mission turned into a war-like standoff between Major Punia's company and the Revolutionary United Front (RUF) rebels in Kailahun, with the Indian peacekeepers cordoned off for seventy-five days without supplies. The only way home was by laying down their weapons.

Captivating...reads like an absolute thriller!
This is an audio book I thoroughly enjoyed. Packed with deep details, inside information and interesting details for the hunt for the killers, each episode left me wanting to hear more. The narration is very good (despite some Tamil words or areas being pronounced not so well). Anirudhya's resolve and grit to follow the hunt to the finish is absolutely amazing and a delight to know.

Probably not the best work on this subject
The narrator's pronunciation of Tamil names and places were so jarring to listen to, along with his unnatural pauses and poor delivery. The book would have benefitted greatly from a better storyteller. The choice of writing about oneself in the third person stood out in a way that seemed to confuse the listener.

Thanks for this book
Very good writing style and reading. I really don't need to listen to another book on the subject of Rajiv Gandhi's assassination. It is heartbreaking to hear about India's security system and the missing link between them. It is very unfortunate that a few petty individuals challenge the sovereignty of India and what is even more terrible is that the government forgives these criminals. It is true that many questions remain unanswered in the mind after this book.

unnecessarily sensationalized
more drama than substance. author sensationalized the events to his liking. could have fact based investigative piece but author made it more like a fiction novel. pathetic.
