About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Read by award-winning narrator Jeff Harding.

**NOW A MAJOR PRIME TV SERIES STARRING ALAN RITCHSON**

Never forgive, never forget.

Jack Reacher lives for the moment. Without a home. Without commitment. But he has a burning desire to right wrongs - and rewrite his own agonizing past.

Never apologize. Never explain.

When Reacher witnesses a brutal kidnap attempt, he takes the law into his own hands. But a cop dies. Has Reacher lost his sense of right and wrong?

Although the Jack Reacher novels can be listened to in any order, Persuader is seventh in the series.

"Ballsy, dynamic and not for the faint-hearted." (Daily Mail)

‘Jeff Harding’s [...] narration captures Reacher’s character perfectly [...] you have to savour every minute.’ The Sunday Times

Edge of the seat thriller

"Persuader" is a standout entry in Lee Child's Jack Reacher series, and for me, it's one of the most gripping. Here's a review:
Lee Child's "Persuader" plunges Jack Reacher into a murky world of drug trafficking and personal vendettas, and it delivers a potent dose of the character's signature brand of justice. This isn't just another Reacher adventure; it's a meticulously crafted thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat from the first page to the last.
The premise is compelling: Reacher is recruited by the DEA to infiltrate the inner circle of Zachary Beck, a man Reacher believes he killed years prior. The catch? Beck is very much alive, and Reacher must play a dangerous game of deception to expose his criminal empire. The personal stakes are high, adding a layer of intensity that elevates the narrative beyond a typical action thriller.
What truly shines in "Persuader" is the intricate plot. Child masterfully weaves together multiple threads, creating a complex web of deceit and betrayal. The tension is palpable, and the pacing is relentless. Reacher's methodical approach to unraveling the conspiracy is both fascinating and thrilling. The fight scenes are brutal and realistic, showcasing Reacher's formidable skills without veering into cartoonish territory.
Child's writing is lean and efficient, perfectly suited to Reacher's no-nonsense character. The dialogue is sharp, and the descriptions are vivid, painting a clear picture of the gritty and dangerous world Reacher inhabits. The atmospheric setting, particularly the isolated Maine mansion, adds to the sense of claustrophobia and impending danger.
While some might find the plot a bit convoluted, it's precisely this complexity that makes "Persuader" so engaging. The twists and turns are expertly executed, and the revelations are genuinely surprising. Jack Reacher's unwavering determination and moral compass remain his defining traits, and they are on full display in this thrilling installment.
In summary, "Persuader" is a must-read for fans of the Jack Reacher series and anyone who enjoys a well-crafted thriller. It's a dark, intense, and utterly compelling story that showcases Lee Child at his best.

Brisk pace that keeps you riveted

Another wonderful book by Lee Child. The way Reacher (Jeff Harding) explains his thought process helps listeners to appreciate why Reacher does what he does. There is a constant reminder of what the key elements of risks that Reacher faces, which helps us stick with the flow of the story. No wasted narration anywhere in the book. Every explanation is well suited to the book. The ambiguity surrounding few charaters like Richard Beck is well explored. You can see a movie running through your head when you listen to the book. Kudos to the author for enabling that.

Narration is very plane and robotic

The story is okay, however; the narration is very plain. The voice sounds robotic. It could have been better.
