Publisher's Summary

From the best-selling author of Sister of My Heart comes a spellbinding tale of mothers and daughters, love and cultural identity.

Rakhi, a young painter and single mother, is struggling to come to terms with her relationship with ex-husband Sonny, a hip Bay Area DJ, and with her dreamteller mother, who has rarely spoken about her past or her native India. Rakhihas her hands full, juggling a creative dry spell, raising her daughter, and trying to save the Berkeley teahouse she and her best friend, Belle, own. But greater challenges are to come. When a national tragedy turns her world upside down and Rakhi needs her mother’s strength and wisdom more than ever, she loses her in a freak car accident. But uncovering her mother’s dream journals allows Rakhi to discover her mother's long-kept secrets and sacrifices - and ultimately to confront her fears, forge a new relationship with her father, and revisit Sonny's place in her heart.

It was ok ok

Have read a couple of Chitra Banerjee before and I loved those. This wasn’t as expected. It started off very well , but towards the end it lost the charm. Part of it felt like reading Paulo Coelho and not Chitra Banerjee . It was different nevertheless and well written overall.
Also, honestly the narration could have been better. The accent was absolutely unnecessary, and the male voices plus Jona’s voice and accent was extremely annoying.

Good Hear

It's intriguing, keeps you on the edge in the beginning but looses it at the end. Over All its a good Novel.

awful narrator

an absolutely godawful narrator utterly spoilt it for me. A flat, uninterested, monotonous delivery. Really need to pick better Indian narrators, are you listening, Amazon?

The narration is what makes it wonderful!!

The story is okayish. Too generic. Some scenes are good but overall it's too dragged out. But the narration makes it more bearable. Awesome work by Deepti Gupta.

Captivating story

a good read on a story captivated by a mother/wife with a secret .. a story which connects a daughter with her mother and her own daughter...
you would not be able to keep this book down or should I say pause the app ...

An excellent start & middle

Like my title says. It has an excellent beginning and such an intriguing middle but somehow the landing wasn’t enthralling enough.

Not for me. Too many variables and no clear story

Read this because I loves Palace of illusions from the same autbor. But could not at all connect with the story. Disappointed in this one.
