About this listen

Born in 1905 in the center of the crumbling Austro-Hungarian Empire, Viktor Frankl was a witness to the great political, philosophical, and scientific upheavals of the 20th century. In these stirring recollections, Frankl describes how as a young doctor of neurology in prewar Vienna, his disagreements with Freud and Adler led to the development of "the third Viennese School of Psychotherapy", known as logotherapy; recounts his harrowing trials in four concentration camps during the War; and reflects on the celebrity brought by the publication of Man's Search for Meaning in 1945.

Victor Frankl, frankly speaking

an example of turning tribulations into triumph, Dr. Frankl was able to achieve this by wanting to help others. Reach wasn't nearly as easy in pre - internet days and yet, he was celebrated the world over. The grounded tone of his writings make it easy for you to relate to. And even today, his personal observations stay relevant.
High point is the subtle humour he adds, which makes you see even the gruesome stories objectively.
the narrator has done a fantastic job. You feel as if it's Dr. Frankl himself reading it.
