About this listen
Seven days to fall in love, 15 years to forget and seven days to get it all back again....
Eva Mercy is a single mother and best-selling erotica writer who is feeling pressed from all sides. Shane Hall is a reclusive, enigmatic, award-winning novelist, who, to everyone's surprise, shows up unexpectedly in New York.
When Shane and Eva meet at a literary event, sparks fly, raising not only their buried traumas, but also the eyebrows of the Black literati. What no one knows is that 15 years earlier, teenage Eva and Shane spent one crazy, torrid week madly in love. While they may be pretending not to know each other, they can't deny their chemistry - or the fact that they've been secretly writing to each other in their books through the years.
Over the next seven days, amidst a steamy Brooklyn summer, Eva and Shane reconnect - but Eva's wary of the man who broke her heart and wants him out of the city so her life can return to normal. Before Shane disappears though, she needs a few questions answered....
With its keen observations of creative life in America today, as well as the joys and complications of being a mother and a daughter, Seven Days in June is a hilarious, romantic and sexy-as-hell story of two writers discovering their second chance at love.

Fantastic audiobook
The writing itself was wonderful, but what really did it for me was the performance. The characters really came to life and I have not felt this drawn into a book in a while. Kudos to the reader.

Captivating and an intensely heartfelt love story!
The story was gorgeous in itself and I'd highly recommend you read this. The narrator did and excellent job to say the least! Her voice modulation was perfect. She played every character to the T and I may have enjoyed the book a lot more because of her narration.

Great book
The characters are well developed, and the author takes great care to make sure they thrive on their own and aren't "co-dependent". The narrator has done a wonderful job in bringing them alive and add to the reading experience.

She was suffering from one of her bad headaches.
When Eva Mercy saw Shane Hall in the Black Author panel at the Brooklyn Museum, she looked at him in mingled astonishment and anger.
Fifteen years ago, she was a restless, headstrong girl, who liked to astonish him. Delicate curls framed her face and brushed against her neck. Shane liked the charm of her dimples. She made him happy. Though he was an orphan, Shane was very kind and attentive, and a teen girl like Eva felt his kindness and attention. All the gold of his rich nature was poured at her feet.
Her mother had not been particularly steady in the days of Eva's wild youth. Decrepit families imply decrepit wills, decrepit conduct.
Eva only did herself harm. Shane was of real assistance in the merciful dullness of her perception. The law was not tender-hearted. He was banished, in the name of her weakness, from her life.
It was healing to write down her thoughts and feelings, then. Now, it was too late to retrace their steps. Eva didn't know that Shane would rather compromise himself than compromise her. If they had been together he would have helped her to better things.
