I have mostly done Lorde’s academic reading but I couldn’t help pause at the depth of her feeling and sentiment

Powerful narration

Pipa’s narration is restful and contemplative. She takes all the right pauses and inflects all the right places, the reading never comes across as monotonous. Being a 1984 text, some geopolitical references were lost on me, leading me to drift off but overall sister, outsider is a deeply moving and visceral embodiment of the collective black female experience.
