About this listen
An outlaw's legacy...
In a remote corner of Utah lies the secret outlaw kingdom of Ben Curry. For 15 years Curry has ruled supreme, as his men have pulled jobs from Canada to Mexico. But the king is getting old...he wants to turn his legacy over to someone younger, tougher.
Mike Bastian is Ben's adopted son, a young man who can handle a knife, a gun, his fists, but a man who's never broken the law. Now, as treachery explodes among Ben's riders, and two honest lawmen - Tyrel Sackett and Borden Chantry - begin to zero in on the gang, Mike must choose...between his loyalty to Ben and his yearning for a different life. Yet when the guns start echoing off the Vermilion Cliffs, the time for choosing is over - and the time for battle has begun.

A powerful story of Father and Son, one of Louis L'amour's best!
Son of a Wanted Man written by Louis L'amour is about a young boy who is adopted into the outlaw life by the outlaw king Ben Curry and the tension it arises between father and adopted son decides to follow his path.
This is a great Western story and one of the author's best, it is reminiscent of Mario Puzo's Godfather with gang warfare, father son story but set in the Wild West and going in it's own direction.
I've listened to the audio dramas version which multiple voice cast and proper music score and sound affects. It is very well done and there is an additional hour on the making of the audio drama and an interview with Louis L'amour.
Recommend for Western fans but to anyone who enjoys strong dramatic storytelling.
