Publisher's Summary
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day.
It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica.
But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history.
Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.
Sensing the McGregors and townspeople are keeping terrible secrets, Isla plans to discover the truth.
But the closer Isla comes to uncovering answers, the more the danger mounts. And with a dense cover of snow now blanketing the town, all chance of escape might already be gone.
ANNI TAYLOR lives on The Central Coast, north of Sydney, Australia, with her partner and four boys. Her thriller novels include The Game You Played, Birds in Flight and Poison Orchids.

Intriguing story
I really liked the visuals depicted in the story and the narration was pretty good. The beginning journey felt like I was travelling with her. Lots of twists. A good audiobook overall.

A story well told !
Not something with a lot of twists and turns but it wasn’t predictable, not at any point and kept me hooked till the end. Love the narration , the Scottish accent and the characters. Overall, a very good listen.

Starts so well and an interesting idea. Prob could have written 3 or more separate books!
Such a shame how ridiculous this story got. So many OTT impossible coincidences that just simply weren’t necessary. Also Australinisms used by the Scottish characters were incredibly poor editing. Does chat GPT write this stuff??

Super twisted plot!
This is the second of Anni Taylor's books I was listening to and the story just kept twisting around every curve. At no point would I have imagined the end. It definitely kept me wanting to know where it was headed. Excellently well performed.

Gripping!
A gripping audio book with a rather unconventional storyline. Keeps one hooked until the end. Performance was equally brilliant!
