About this listen
The Vedanta was an inseparable part of Swami Vivekananda’s personality. He lived and breathed this philosophy while preaching it to India and the West. While Vivekananda’s landmark address at the Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893 established him as modern India’s great spiritual leader, his popularity and appeal is attributed to his ability to integrate his human side with his profound spiritual side.
In this beautifully written biography, Chaturvedi Badrinath liberates Vivekananda from the confines of the worship room and offers an unforgettable insight into the life of a man who was the very embodiment of the Vedanta that he preached.

Awesome book on Swamiji
Dev, as narrator, has done an amazing job. He modulated his voice when it comes to speak as Ramakrishna. after a while I got used to his style of narrating the book that I finished it in 10 days. If I had read it, would not have finished it in 2 months.

A book for a lifetime
A wonderful book. Through letters by Swami Vivekananda and letters written by others Chaturvedi Badrinath has brought alive Swami Vivekananda, the individual . We get to know a little about his thoughts and ideas and feelings. Letters, both by Swami Vivekananda and by others give a very personal feel to the book. Narration by Dev J Haldar is excellent. I am glad I got to listen to this book. It is one of those books which we will read again and again over the years.

Very skewed narration of a perfectly wondrous man.
Mad a complete mess of a wondrous man's character. I had a hope that the audiobook will change from "red color shirt" kind of narration to what were the "man's driving ethics". The book keep revolving around, "Grass is green" and "stomach is full" kind of narration. If you change title from "Swami Vivekananda: The Living Vedanta" to "John Doe: The Dead Legend" then its a good book though. Narrator is good [loved voice modulation]. Author gave a detailed picturisation of various women around "John Doe".
