Tarzan against slave raiders!
This book was a fun one. Tarzan Triumphant is book no 15 in the original series by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
Tarzan gets visited by an African chief. A gang of shiftas ( slave raiders) are harassing his people and he requests Tarzan to deal with this problem.
Simultaneously we are introduced to some of the most memorable side characters in the series yet. A headstrong British aviatrix who crashes in the remote Ghenzi mountains, a timid geologist who goes to the Ghenzi to study rock formations, and a Chicago gangster who wants to flee the US and accompanies the geologist on his trip.
Of course, all these characters intersect in an entertaining adventure. The Oasis audiobook version as always has an informative afterword on the creation of the story and voice performance by Ben Dooley is good.
