Publisher's Summary

When The Accidental Prime Minister was published in 2014, it created a storm and became the publishing sensation of the year. The Prime Minister’s Office called the book a work of "fiction", the press hailed it as a revelatory account of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s first term in UPA.

Written by Singh’s media adviser and trusted aide, the book describes Singh’s often troubled relations with his ministers, his cautious equation with Sonia Gandhi, and how he handled the big crises from managing the left to pushing through the nuclear deal. Insightful, acute, and packed with political anecdotes, The Accidental Prime Minister is one of the great insider accounts of Indian political life.

Well balanced content with good narration

The book is good in terms of its content with a balanced approach taking into account the person and position of the Prime Minister. The objectivity is well defined and keeps the book at a good tempo - though the chronology is not in order and can make time track a strugge.

The narration is brilliant with good delivery, pauses and modulation.

An outsider perspective of insider view

it's interesting to see how the author has captured a balanced view of someone to whom he worked for without being too attached nor becoming critical of every move.
it was an excellent compilation to address the curiosity of a common man far from government functioning.

Good book, not so good narration

nice book. helps to understand political landscape of UPA tenure.
Bad narration though. Mr. Suyash Migan should be told that he is an Indian and as such doesn't need to pronounce Sanjay as Sanjay-a , Arjun as Arjun-a etc. i find that irritating
