About this listen

In July 2004, Barack Obama electrified the Democratic National Convention with an address that spoke to Americans across the political spectrum. Now, in The Audacity of Hope, Senator Obama calls for a different brand of politics: a politics for those weary of bitter partisanship and alienated by the "endless clash of armies" we see in Congress and on the campaign trail; a politics rooted in the faith, inclusiveness, and nobility of spirit at the heart of "our improbable experiment in democracy". He also speaks, with surprising intimacy and self-deprecating humor, about settling in as a senator, seeking to balance the demands of public service and family life, and his own deepening religious commitment.

At the heart of this audiobook is Senator Obama's vision of how we can move beyond our divisions to tackle concrete problems. Underlying his stories about family, friends, members of the Senate, and even the president is a vigorous search for connection: the foundation for a radically hopeful political consensus.

A senator and a lawyer, a professor and a father, a Christian and a skeptic, and above all a student of history and human nature, Senator Obama has written a book of transforming power.

A complete & fulfilling life

A complete & fulfilling life of Obamas - both personally and professionally - well balanced. Perhaps, the humbleness & gratefulness of their characters is what one needs to learn and emulate. Simply excellent.

A nice peek into America

As a non-American, this book was insightful and equally informative to learn about some of the struggles that Americans face, on a daily basis, culturally and socially. As a US immigrant, I never got to know America like Mr Obama narrates it. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, experience and your visions, Sir.

As a child who lost my mom to cancer, Mr Obama's expression of his experience with his mom's battle to beat the odds, brought me to tears and I felt a sense of sharing, with an esteemed person like Obama. Thank you for touching my life, with that.

Am glad I picked up the book to listen. Well worth my time 👍

incredibly motivating, it's from his heart

I actually read this right after I read Becoming by Michelle Obama. I expected I know more of the 1st coloured power couple and their deepest beliefs and what motivates them. it proved to be all that and more.. a must read

Giant of a Man

This is one of the most important books I have read in recent years.I know I am not exaggerating when I say that I am grateful to God that I am still in the world when this most remarkable man is around.Future generations would wonder if such a person really existed.
Americans are lucky and fortunate that they have had Barack Obama as an American.
