About this listen
One of Time’s 10 most important nonfiction books of the 20th century.
Experience a bold take on this classic autobiography as it’s performed by Oscar-nominated Laurence Fishburne.
In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.
The Autobiography of Malcolm X stands as the definitive statement of a movement and a man whose work was never completed but whose message is timeless. It is essential for anyone who wants to understand the African American experience and America as a whole.

This book is educational
This book has enriched my understanding of the world we live in. It gave insight into the plight of the black man in America, what hustling actually means, how religion and power operate and it strips down for me the otherwise glorious image of America.
The technological progress of the world seem so futile with glaring human rights issues all around us.
Thanks Malcom for sharing your story and your thoughts, so fearlessly!

Powerful story of faith and humanity
What a journey Mr. Malcolm X had. From being oppressed by the white man to being loved my most reasonable people on this earth.
Special mention to the Mecca chapter of the book, it is sooo good. I can't express how well it shows the power of faith and humanity.

A bit radical but thought provoking read
One of the best autobiographies I have read that tells about the life of a true leader. A leader who inspired people to rise and revolt. The book also gives a vivid picture of America’s deep rooted race problem.
A must read for anyone looking to know more about the racism issue in US and life of
Malcolm X.
