Editorial Reviews

Another sweet and funny story from beloved Australian children's author Paul Jennings. When the neighbors have to sell their farm, sensitive young Chris desperately wants to save the cows, even though one of them is pregnant and dad has laid down a firm "no". So Chris sneaks out at night and follows one of the cows, Petal, ending up in a cabbage patch full of green babies! One cabbage baby was enough to handle, but fifty motherless babies all crying at once is just too much. Performer Kate Hosking's delivery is pitch-perfect and very fun, while the imaginative sound effects add sparkle.

Critic Reviews

"The combination of Alexander's research and his rich characterizations produces an engaging historical fiction that offers a Rasputin who is neither beast nor saint, but merely, compellingly human." (Publishers Weekly)
