James Patterson's Detective Billy Harney is back, this time investigating murders in a notorious Chicago drug ring, which will lead him, his sister, and his new partner through a dangerous web of corrupt politicians, vengeful billionaires, and violent dark web conspiracies.

In The Coldest Case: A Black Book Audio Drama, homicide detective Billy Harney sends his new partner, Kate, deep undercover in a notorious Chicago drug ring. When several members of the ring soon turn up dead, Billy abruptly pulls Kate out, blowing her cover. Kate’s informant inside the gang quickly disappears. As does the ring’s black book....

When Billy can’t find the informant, he wonders if Kate is secretly harboring her, since the two grew close during Kate's weeks undercover. As Billy and Kate investigate the ring’s murders, they’ll be pulled into a dangerous web of corrupt politicians, vengeful billionaires, drugged pro-athletes, and violent, dark web conspiracies, all in search of the missing black book.

Reminded me Aaron's perfomance in breaking bad

Although the story was a bit predictable, still loved it. The narrators just nailed it.

Good story, brilliant narration

I binge-listened this one because Aaron Paul, Krysten Ritter and Nathalie Emmanuel narrated it. They added the huge boost to the story. The story is good, but in the end, it’s predictable though I totally enjoyed this one.

Enjoyable

Well, the best thing about this audiobook is Aaron Paul's voice. The story was somewhat predictable. Sometimes a bit cheesy. But it was enjoyable nonetheless.
If you're a thriller buff you could avoid it. I'd only suggest this one to the novice listener/reader.

very entertaining

The plot got a bit predictable once or twice but was still thoroughly entertaining. Loved the Korean character.

Wasn't the worst

Felt sponsored by the 🦅 govt with the amount of times they mentioned "election hacking of 2016", and all the "Blue" advocacy lol. Contained low-key fear mongering.

It was good for a background brainless listen whilst working. The cast is mostly why.

Very well narrated... Gripping thriller...

Its a very well narrated gripping thriller. However, the Climax could have been more engaging and relatable. Overall, a delight to listen to

Absolutely engaging and enthralling audiobook

The coldest case by James Patterson is an engaging and enthralling audiobook on @audible that follows NYPD Detective Billy Harney and his sister as they investigate a drug ring that blows open a bigger conspiracy that threatens the latest Governors' race. As they continue to investigate, they get pulled deeper into the dangerous web. Will they stand back to protect those closest to them or will they fight for justice? The narration by the cast was brilliant and the experience was akin to watching a thriller movie without the picture. This was my first book with Detective Billy Harney, but definitely won't be my last..

most thrilling

the audio drama was well carried out and the effect was even more substantial due to all the background music and all the emotions in the voice actors. 100% recommend it to people who are looking for a change. I finished this within one day and would have loved to hear more.
