I think this book has masterfully compiled all the contemporary and historical theories and aguements on the significance and meaning of the Cross. Highly recommended for all Christians to read/listen.

As one of my first books on the Cross ,It was absolutely worth it .Being one who has often ridiculed Gods goodness the chapter on substitutionary atonement and the last chapter on suffering was eye opening . All I can think of at the end of this book is how shall I escape if I neglect so great a salvation ?
