So nostalgic...

The book is almost like a fairy tale went grim and was set somewhere around 1960s. None of it is realistic and you constantly have to suspend your disbelief but once you get on the same wavelength as the author you get what they're going for here.
Love the narrator too, cause it feels like he also knows the author wants to focus more on emotion and feelings rather than making sense, and he plays it big like he's in a opera.
