جلس يُدخن (غليونه ) الإنجليزي بعدما تمتع بإفطار جيد..تناول مُفكرته وجلس يُدون بعض المُلاحظات، قطع تأملاته صراخ ضعيف قادم من الشُرفة إنه العصفور يستغيث من شئٍ ما، هرول (كارتر) إلى هناك لكنه لم يصدق ما رأى : أفعى كوبرا ضخمة تلتهم العصفور المسكين ليتناثر ريشه الذهبى مُختلطاً بالدماء فى كُل مكان..ثُم فرت هاربة.
