Publisher's Summary
Winner of the 2013 Financial Times and Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award.
Amazon.com started off delivering books through the mail. But its visionary founder, Jeff Bezos, wasn't content with being a bookseller. He wanted Amazon to become the everything store, offering limitless selection and seductive convenience at disruptively low prices.
To achieve that end, he developed a corporate culture of relentless ambition and secrecy that's never been cracked. Until now...
Brad Stone enjoyed unprecedented access to current and former Amazon employees and Bezos family members, giving readers the first in-depth, fly-on-the-wall account of life at Amazon.
Compared to tech's other elite innovators - Jobs, Gates, Zuckerberg - Bezos is a private man. But he stands out for his restless pursuit of new markets, leading Amazon into risky new ventures like the Kindle and cloud computing, and transforming retail in the same way Henry Ford revolutionized manufacturing.
The Everything Store is the revealing, definitive biography of the company that placed one of the first and largest bets on the Internet and forever changed the way we shop and read.

The rist of 2nd A of FAANG
Great book understanding how Amazon survived and thrive during the cut throat competition in last 3 decades, the frugality, the ingenuity of Jeff Bezos and his relentlessness which shaped the modern day retail for our world is interesting tale. Even though the book is written back in 2012-2013 after which Amazon grew higher and higher, it is enough to understand why it is what it is today. The only negative for me is the portrayal of Jeff B, author tried hard to make him the hero and did not add any of his significant negative personal traits.

What an amazingly exhilarating story !
There is a neutrality to the narrative which gives you a feeling of being a fly in the wall watching the story of Amazon unfold. Loved it.

Must Read
superb lot learning and great understanding about the CEO mindset . loved how the concept of frugality is deeply imbeded in the culture of Amazon. I think there are separate circumstances for each one of us and all of us have to fight our own battles. Nothing had been achieved just only with the wishful thinking it takes hardwork sheer determination and stubbornness to turns dreams into reality coz NO one on this planet knows your cause better than yourself. Must Read.

Brilliant read/listen...
A must for budding entrepreneurs, getting a sneak peek in the mind of a futurist. His ability to anticipate and prepare for future (discount retail), if not disrupt it himself (Kindle), is what stood out most for me.
