Publisher's Summary
Fine-art aficionado. Master of disguise. Jewelry expert. Historian. Gentleman. Burglar. Arsene Lupin is all of these and more. In 1905, Maurice Leblanc introduced his gentleman burglar in the story "L'Arrestation d'Arsène Lupin". Shortly thereafter, the stories were collected as one single volume. In these charming adventures, Lupin orchestrates a myriad of extravagant heists in the very face of the determined Inspector Ganimard. With his sparkling wit, his sharp eye for detail, and his incredible gift of anticipation, Lupin carries off the most amazing thefts and never leaves a clue behind. And yet he is ever the embodiment of gentlemanly manners and old-school chivalry. Take these first adventures for a whirl, and witness how he measures up when he goes toe to toe with the redoubtable Sherlock Holmes himself!

Great stories - Must read
Great set of stories. The last one is unbeatable. Not to be missed. A different perspective offered from the criminal's viewpoint. Would have been even better if it was mentioned in one of the stories , why the burglar did what he did - Was it for testing his own skills (self satisfaction) or for the wealth itself.

A tad confusing
I enjoyed the narration but not the story. The plot seemed to move rather twistedly, with a lost connection or two. It took a while and few breaks to finish. I suppose this one's an acquired taste.

Typical Arsene Lupin…made better by the performance
All that you would expect from Monsieur Lupin.
The one star less is because the expectations are set high and are difficult to meet.
A satisfying meal leaving one with the mouth taste, feel and texture that the Chef promised and a full, happy belly that is not overstuffed.
Just perfect.
