About this listen

Author of the New York Times best seller The Beginning of Infinity, David Deutsch, explores the four most fundamental strands of human knowledge: quantum physics, and the theories of knowledge, computation, and evolution - and their unexpected connections. Taken together, these four strands reveal a deeply integrated, rational, and optimistic worldview. It describes a unified fabric of reality that is objective and comprehensible, in which human action and thought are central.

With new preface exclusive to the audiobook, read by the author.

Loved everything presented in the book. As a science enthusiast since childhood, reading this book after reading and listening to The Beginning of Infinity by the same author, a lot of questions and confusions were resolved, regarding these crucial interactions between the 4 different levels of abstraction. I listened to this along with reading it in paperback, because the number of mind boggling insights that one encounters causes one to rewind and relisten a bunch of times! That's not to say that audiobook format is lacking for this book, but it's a wonderful compliment to the paperback.

David reveals a deep connection between seemingly disparate fields of science, philosophy and math
