I could connect with his story so much as I was an addict too and has been a man with wrong choices all my life.

It's lies? Maybe.
Lot of people are claiming this book is made up with stories gathered from other people's lives. It could be true. The story of Ashley Kauffman is strongly similar to this real incident in 2012. Dates are changed by Mike but he can say anything under the pretext of disclaimers.
