Story
When A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada entered the port of New York City on 17 September 1965, few Americans took notice–but he was not merely another immigrant. He was on a mission to introduce ancient teachings of Vedic India to mainstream America. Before Srila Prabhupada passed away at the age of eighty-one on 14 November 1977, his mission was successful. He had founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), colloquially known as the ‘Hare Krishna Movement’, and saw it grow into a worldwide confederation of more than 100 temples, ashrams and cultural centers.

Story
On the surface, this is a biography of an accomplished seeker who mastered the practices of yoga and brought a system for understanding the mysteries of body, mind, and spirit to students in the West. But, like the life of Swami Rama, this audiobook offers more than a sequence of astonishing events. As you read the stories of authentic guru-disciple relationships Swami Rama had both with his master and with his own students, you will see how the spiritual wisdom is transmitted through generations. This book also serves as a guide to advanced practices of yoga and tantra not commonly understood in modern times.

A true reflection of a spritual world
I am grateful to Swami jee in enabling us to witness his divine jouney. He has poured his soul in narrating his journey and sometimes, my tears rolled down after getting so engaged with the ups and downs of his emotions. This is a very precious creation of our age and will answer almost all the questions of truth seekers. The interpretation of Bhaktiyoga and his experiences with great Yogis in Himalayas and Vrindavan, his commitment of celibacy, not taking intoxicating material and to be vegetarian due to his love and compassion for all creatures will always inspire the mankind. Thanks for everything, I received from this book. Hare Krishna🙏

Perfect spiritual journey
If you are a spiritual seeker, you would relate your journey with that of this swami in many context. I think the journey of spiritual seekers are all same but in different context. The ultimate experience is to attain love and humbleness inside you no matter what's your journey is. The ultimate aim is always to realize who you are. You are a pure soul with full of love. If no external disturbance either positive or negative affects you then you have already attained God. It's just a matter of self realization.

A soul stirring tale which is a must read/listen!
I consider myself fortunate to have come across this title. Couldn't hold myself back once I started with the first chapter. This real life tale is so gripping and filled with so many life lessons. It reminds us to dive deeper within and search for the meaning and purpose of our lives. It reminds us that we are all hankering after true love which can only be obtained from the Supreme Lord by selfless devotional service to Him. It reinforces the faith in the Supreme showcasing how a sincere seeker is directed from within by the Lord towards the ultimate goal of life - understanding our true self and selfless service to the Lord and His children. The sincerety and determination of Richard to seek spiritual knowledge is such a lesson to all of us. If one is sincere and determined towards their ultimate goal of life, the Lord will guide and help to achieve it. The narration by the author is so gentle and pleasing to listen to. The narration of the tale is very moving and touches the heart with all the emotions. Richard's innocence and sincerety is a mirror which shows me all the negative qualities which are within me. I am filled with awe and reverence towards Radhanath Swami for his unwavering determination and focus in achieving his goal. The arduous journey filled with enlightening and life-threatening events gives me hope and belief that no matter how hard the life may appear, having faith in the Supreme and having a learning attitude towards the life events will help us grow, learn and reach the desired end. I am grateful to the author for sharing this journey and the lessons with all of us. This is a gem! I shall strive to inculcate the humility, faith, love, and determination that RIchard has in whatever degree I am able to in my life. Thank you so much for this tale!
