About this listen
The Kaiju Preservation Society is John Scalzi's first stand-alone adventure since the conclusion of his New York Times best-selling Interdependency trilogy.
When COVID-19 sweeps through New York City, Jamie Gray is stuck as a dead-end driver for food-delivery apps. That is, until Jamie makes a delivery to an old acquaintance, Tom, who works at what he calls “an animal rights organization”. Tom’s team needs a last-minute grunt to handle things on their next field visit. Jamie, eager to do anything, immediately signs on.
What Tom doesn't tell Jamie is that the animals his team cares for are not here on Earth. Not our Earth, at at least. In an alternate dimension, massive dinosaur-like creatures named Kaiju roam a warm and human-free world. They're the universe's largest and most dangerous panda, and they're in trouble.
It's not just the Kaiju Preservation Society who's found their way to the alternate world. Others have, too. And their carelessness could cause millions back on our Earth to die.

Fun. Time killer
Something light which accompanied my early morning walks. Witty dialogues. But plays out towards the end like a formulaic Hollywood monster movie.

Godzillas need preservation?
Fun book to read but don’t expect a classic sci fi saga. By author’s own admission this is a pop song and not a classic orchestra, so read it as such. With that expectation, there aren’t many lose ends on books, the premise is good and character development is awesome.

One of the best Sci-fi novels of 2022!
Scalzi takes Kaiju, parallel universes, science fiction, trans-dimensional travel and gives you a book that has you on the edge of your seat every moment of it. Anyone who grew up on Godzilla or Jurassic Park movies will absolutely love this one.
Wil Wheaton as the narrator is the most natural choice, lending his personal charm to the central character. If Scalzi ever decides to give movie rights of the book, he should include a rider that says the character of Jamie Gray MUST be played by Wheaton!

the concept itself what hold me hooked
the narration was sooooo much fun. As a sci-fi lover, I was having a bad reading year and this just made my list.
