About this listen

The Magic of Oz by L. Frank Baum presented by The Online Stage.

A Munchkin named Bini Aru discovers a way to transform people and objects by speaking the magic word "pyrzqxgl." When Ozma proclaimed that no one was allowed to practice magic in Oz except for Glinda and The Wizard, Bini hid his notes in his laboratory. When his son Kiki finds these notes, he transforms himself into a hawk and sets off on an adventure. Landing in Ev, he runs into Ruggedo, the former Nome King who was exiled and now sees his opportunity for revenge through Kiki's power. Transforming himself and Ruggedo into birds, they fly into Oz, escaping detection, and begin to build an animal army. Meanwhile, Ozma's birthday is fast approaching. Dorothy enlists the help of all of her friends to present Ozma with the perfect birthday gift. This is the thirteenth book in the Oz series, published one month after the death of L. Frank Baum.
