Good but not great
I picked this book because the premise (as also the sample with the serial killer) sounded interesting. Luckily, the story and execution also turned out to be good. The book follows the stories of how the lives of 5 different people progress once they are matched through matchyourdna.com. The stories kept me interested and wanting to know more. This book is full of “omg what, no way!” moments of absolute shock, so the jump starts definitely made it fun. The ending was too extreme / unrealistic and quite lacklustre for me, which I feel is the reason for giving this a lower rating. But overall, it’s a good book; not great, but good.
As for the audiobook, I have to say that it was quite disappointing overall. Some of the narrators are just bad, speak at a volume or accent that makes them tough to understand, and they take away from the book rather than add to it, unlike what good narrators do. The sample has the narrator for Nick and sounded good, but if I’d heard a sample with some of the other disappointing narrators, I’m quite certain I would have chosen to read the book instead of listen to it.
Would recommend the book if you’re looking for a broadly engaging read.

Loved the book. Cliffhanger on every chapter end. Good narrations by all. Very interesting. Must read.

Good attempt but not wow!
I found the storyline to be ok. It was a very good attempt with the twists and turns but there were parts that are very predictable. The gay relationship was also a bit of a long shot - not very convincing. Overall the idea of a gene matching app was creative but I have read other thrillers that are more interesting.

Juvenile
Juvenile and immature story. I gave 1 star only because I couldn’t give zero! Please avoid at all costs!
