About this listen

Waiting for a Friend is the story of a 50-year-old man who has an unexpected meeting with a best friend from his teenage years, and they catch up on each other's lives, renew their friendship, and lament the passage of so many decades.

Alfred C. Martino is the author of three highly acclaimed novels: Perfected by Girls, Over the End Line, and Pinned, and a (long) short story, "Quiet Desperation". Mr. Martino was born and raised in Short Hills, NJ, and graduated from Millburn High School. He is a graduate of Duke University and The Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He currently lives in Jersey City, NJ.

Narrator Patrick Girard Lawlor, a classically trained stage actor, has performed onstage throughout the United States and Europe. He has appeared in several feature films as well as on the television series LA Heat. His extensive work as an audiobook narrator has garnered numerous awards, including the Audie Award.
