  • नवगढ़ के राजकुँवर विरेंद्र सिंह और विजयगढ़ की राजकुमारी चन्द्रकांता का प्रेम दोनों राज्यों की आपसी दुश्मनी के बावजूद जारी रहता है। विजयगढ़ के दीवान का पुत्र क्रूर सिंह जिसकी बुरी नज़र राजगद्दी और राजकुमारी पर है, अपनी बदनियती का परिचय देते हुए अपने शागिर्द नाज़िम को चम्पा की भेशभूषा में गुप्तचर बनाकर भेजता है ताकि वो चन्द्रकांता पर नज़र रख सके मगर नाज़िम का पर्दाफ़ाश हो जाता है। ऐय्यार चपला के कोड़ों की मार और कैदख़ाने की यातना का बाद वो सारा सच उगल देता है।
