Episode 6: Vonita Singh: Part 1 of 2 - Addressing Progression of Parkinson’s using Dance as a Mantra for Movement

  • Summary

  • Vonita Singh is the founder and creator of Movement Mantra - a platform to tap into the therapeutic power of mindful movement for Parkinson’s Disease.

Using the  rigour and experience of  a Phd in Anthropology coupled with a lifetime devoted to Indian classical dance, she has reached out to many patients and their families suffering from Parkinson’s.

The approach in these interventions has been shaped by her experience as a caregiver to her father who she wishes her family could have helped better if they knew more about the disease.

Her long term objective is to create awareness for Parkinson's and provide a platform where ‘People with Parkinson’s’ and their care givers can come together to learn and benefit from their collective experiences.

Please join Vonita and me as she shares her remarkable journey of helping patients move their hands and feet to the beat of Kathak as best as they can and delay the progression of their PD as much as they can.
