• Exploring the History of the Knox County Poor Farm

    We’re giving you a first hand listen of two new digital series we are rolling out online! We’ll show you the premiere episode of History Vault, which takes you through the origin story of the property in Knox County known as the “Poor Farm.” Find out how this facility started and what it has been used for over the last 142 years.

    Then we will debut our other new digital series: Trails & Crossroads. We’ll show you Indiana’s very first state park and we’ll take a look at how this park helped set the standard for our state parks more than a hundred years ago.

    Our in-studio guest, Chaze Patrick, will join us to explain how INvets is working in service of Indiana’s veterans across the state. We’ll find out how this organization is bridging workforce gaps for those who have served their country and how employers can utilize its services within their operation.

    Lester Square Park is one of the Vincennes City Parks. A recent addition of a brand new skate park there is now complete. We’ll found out how it’s designed to serve skaters for years to come.
    The Grow City Teaching Garden is in it’s sixth summer of progression. We’ll learn how it’s working with other community entities to help provide gardening education and resources.

    Knox County Community Learning Kitchen continues to spread it’s mission that eating healthy can be fun. We’ll find out what’s being planned for the future.

    an area drive-in theater still up and running today.

    And local teenagers were invited to take part in a Junior Firefighter Camp, all in an effort to learn more about this important role in our community.
