    Anti Terrorism Day is observed every year on May 21, the death anniversary of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi. In 1991, on this day he was assassinated by terrorists while campaigning for the Congress party at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu.

  • Integrated Guided Missile Program-India’s Missile Strengths and Capabilities

    The Integrated Guided Missile Development Program (IGMDP) was an Indian Ministry of Defence program for the research and development of a comprehensive range of missiles. The program was managed by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Ordnance Factories Board in partnership with other Indian government political organizations. The project started in 1982–83 under the leadership of His Excellency Dr. Abdul Kalam former President of India who oversaw its ending in 2008 after these strategic missiles were successfully developed.

    On 8 January 2008, the DRDO formally announced the successful rated guided missile program was completed with its design objectives achieved since most of the missiles in the program had been developed and inducted by the Indian armed forces.
