  • Simone Van Wyk (Ep 20)
    Sep 23 2024

South African writer and small business owner Simone van Wyk joins me on the podcast to share her journey to becoming a writer. Once a professional photographer and now an animal decor artist, Simone balances her life between her small business, Pretty Dead Decor, her fiction writing, and time with her husband and four fur babies in a charming off-grid cabin nestled in the mountains of South Africa.

Her debut novella, "It's Okay," released in May 2024, chronicles the survival of an abusive relationship. Listen as she discusses her brave decision to share this difficult chapter of her life.

Since then, Simone has been focusing on her favorite genre, Dark Fiction. Her second book, "Safe," is set for release in 2025, and she's currently writing her next novel, "To Die For."

  • Shadonovic (Ep 18)
    Aug 5 2024

At just 18 years old, Shadonovic demonstrates remarkable maturity in both his writing ability and his journey as an author. He began writing at the tender age of six and, at 17, won first prize in the Fictionate.me contest in the non-adult category, where our co-host Heather served as a judge and curator for the anthology 'Unmoored: Worlds of Pure Chaos.' Since then, he has envisioned a world that could potentially span an impressive 54-book series. While his age might suggest youthful exuberance, our conversation with Shad on the show reveals a talent that is only beginning to flourish. Join us as we delve into the creative mind of the talented Canadian author, Shadonovic.
