  • Mahatma Vidur was a scholar of politics. Vidura plays an important role in the Hindu epic Mahabharata. He is described as the prime minister of the Kuru kingdom and is the maternal uncle of both the Pandavas and the Kauravas. Sage Vaishampayana narrated the Mahabharata story to Janamejaya, the grandson of Arjuna, from which Vidura Niti was created by extracting the words of Vidura.
