Against the backdrop of holiday festivities and small town life in Tinker’s Cove, Maine, this cozy series keeps the dead bodies coming - whether tucked in a pumpkin patch, linked to toxic eggnog, or dressed as the Easter Bunny. Clever plot twists, eccentric characters, and apt comments on contemporary American life add to the fun. Then, there’s Lucy’s knack for persuading people to open up and confess.

Leslie Meier was studying for her certification to teach high school English when the professor of a required course, writing and the teaching of writing, suggested that one of her papers was good enough to be published. She sent it off to Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine, got $100 for the story, and has been writing ever since. (The teaching, however, didn’t work out.) Her Lucy Stone mysteries draw heavily on her experience as a mother of three and her work as a reporter for various weekly newspapers on Cape Cod. (The murders, however, are pure fiction.)
