When poisonous foliage begins appearing in Shelby Hart's garden, and a resident of Shady Acres winds up dead, she sets off to clear her reputation as a gardener. Hard to do with a broken foot, a meddling office manager, and a head chef who is as crusty as week-old bread. To top things off, a handsome new detective comes on scene more determined than the others to keep Shelby from sticking her nose where it doesn't belong.
