Desiree worked as a hospice nurse before the pandemic. Now she works in the hospital, taking care of patients, some of whom she helps to heal and others she helps to have a comfortable passing. Holding the hands of the living and those who are dying has given her a glimpse into how humans feel about death. The emotions that cover her from every shift she works, she uses to imbue her work with humanity, and how they feel about life and death.
In her off time, she reads, writes, and makes things with string and yarn. She lives on the Gulf Coast with her husband and her beloved dog pack. Oh, and don't forget the cat.
